We are indeed grateful to Dark & Light for immediately responding to our appeal for help following the damage to BMIS due to the heavy rainfall. Thank you for the 10,000 euros that will be used for the renovation of the boundary wall and meeting the costs of other damages. We pray the gap in your budget will be filled there would be favourable response from the donors.

In the meantime, we have received several responses to our appeal from various charitable organizations, groups, and churches, but not as big amount given by Dark & Light. We are continuing in our efforts to raise more funds from various donors, and hope that they would come forward to help.

As you know that this is the time of monsoon in Bangladesh. We are experiencing rainfall almost everyday which sometimes hampers our renovation work, especially the repair of the boundary wall. Despite the bad weather, we have already started our work on rebuilding the boundary wall. We have also made 15 new mattresses for the girls, and order has been given for 40 more, which we hope will be made soon.

The girls living on the ground floor have gone back to their dormitory as the rainwater has now subsided. Although the dormitory is a bit damp, the girls are quite happy to return to their respective places. Normal schooling have resumed at the school, and the girls are looking forward to sit for their exams which is due to be held shortly. The other good news is that CDD has agreed to print braille text books for the blind students, as all study materials and braille books were completely damaged, and can no longer be used. A new water pump has been purchased, and very soon we will purchase equipments for our office, such as computers, file cabinets, etc, and other necessary items needed for our school.

We do hope to complete the renovation work and all purchases within the next 4 months. We will keep you updated on the developments time to time.
