Our mission is to remove the obstacles that prevent blind Filipinos from reaching the fullest potential that God
has for them in life and ministry.

Target group
The main target of this project are children with blindness, low vision and other disabilities in Mindanao. The parents, their families and communities will also benefit in many of our projects. Blind adults who have no education will also receive our services as well.

Project purpose
Our main purpose is to provide an opportunity for blind and visually impaired children to enrol in their local schools by providing trainings to special education teachers, as well as orient other school personnel about educating blind children. We also aim to help blind adults to become self-suffucient by providing trainings and rehab program. We seek to prevent blindness and restore sight by providing primary eyecare and affordable cataract surgery to indigent patients. We also make resources availble in our center.

Targets Description

  • 60 Teachers of visually impaired children involved in the summer training program and in-service trainings
    through out the year.
  • 700 Consultation visits to teachers, students with visual impairment and their families by field workers.
  • 100 Parents involved in the 3 day live in seminar workhop for parents of children with visual impairment and
    short intensive course regarding blind skills.
  • 50 Students with visual impairments involved in regional blind skill trainings.
  • 60,000 Pages of Braille/large print books produced and distributed to students Mindanao wide.
  • 60 Daisy books produced and distributed to college and secondary students in Mindanao.
  • 40 Visually impaired clients and stakeholders involved in the computer training.
  • 25 Visually impaired clients involved in the community based rehabilitation program.
  • 800 Community health workers participating in the primary eye care training.
  • 50 Eye surgeries on children and 200 eye surgeries on adults.
  • 1000 Overnights stays in Guest House by patients, clients and others.
  • A net increase of 80 visually impaired students enrolled in Mindanao.
  • 80 Low vision students provided of clinical and educational assessment.
  • 40 Low vision devices prescribed and utilized by students.
  • 85 Visually impaired multi-handicapped student receiving clinical and educational assessment.
  • 100 Students recieving affordable clinical assessment from partner ophthalmologist.
  • 1000 patients involved in community screening.
  • 1,200 visits in our center to avail of or inquire about our services children and adults whose cause of blindness is cataract.
  • P300,000.00 Amount of sales from adaptive items
  • 613 Total number of students in RBI Mindanao programs for inclusive education.
