Organisation mission statement To improve the livelihoods of the poor and disadvantaged in Sudan.
Target group Direct: Children with disabilities (Visually impaired, the physically handicapped, hearing impaired and the mentally challenged. Indirect: Parents and communities living with children who have disabilities, teachers at the mainstream primary and the GoSS personnel.
Project purpose To support education for ALL with emphasis to reinforcing equal access of children with special needs into mainstream quality education.
Targets Description
- 105 Increase enrolment and retention of CWDs in 30 mainstream schools within 6 Payams in Bor County by the end of 2010.
- 180 Government officials, community leaders, and other key stakeholders enlightened through awareness raising
on the needs of children with disabilities by the end of 2010.
- 70 Provided with need based educational skills to mainstream schools through pre-service teacher training by the end of 2010.
- 5 Improved learning environment in mainstream primary schools by the end of 2010.
- 20 Public forums held to create awareness on provision of quality education to CWDs through dissemination of
learned lessons during public forums, disability days and periodic meetings by the end of 2010.
