Organisation mission statement The mission of ENOVIB is to facilitate partnership, mutual cooperation and collective endeavour among local NGOs of the visually impaired and PWDs in general. ENOVIB also strives to build the institutional and technical capacities of member organizations, so that each can manage projects and serve target groups according to its respective areas of intervention.
Target group ENOVIB's member organizations and their respective beneficiaries.
Project purpose To empower member organizations and their respective beneficiaries, through the facilitation of access to information with the aid of Braille materials, braille embossing and ICT training. To facilitate effective adjustment of the visually impaired to their surrounding through orientation and mobility skill transfer. To ensure the mainstreaming of the visually impaired and other PWDs in the educational sector. To enhance the empowerment and overall inclusion of visually impaired persons and others with different disabilities in various local interventions.
Targets Description
- 25 visually impaired people will have acquired ICT skills as a result of the training project by the end of 2010.
- 75 visually impaired people will have undertaken orientation and mobility training by the end of 2010.
