Target group
The direct beneficiaries of the proposed project is the population suffering from or threatened by avoidable blindness, an
estimated 1.23 million population of Fayzabas/Badakhshan will be benefitted by the project.

Purpose
The purpose of the project is to provide comprehensive eye care services to populations of Fayzabad/Badahkshan Afghanistan by upgrading the existing eye unit in the government run hospital.

Targets Description

• 250 Cataract surgeries perform per year.
• 2500 Patients examined in out patient Department of the eye unit per year.
• 1 Training of Ophthalmologist in year 2009.
• 2 Training of Ophthalmic technicians in 2010.
• 1 Training of Nurse in 2011
