Organisation mission statement BMIS exists to provite education and training services to girls who are blind or partially sighted and to enable the girls to overcome any discrimination social exclusion and proverty they experience.
Target group Visually impaired Children especially the blind girls (age 5+ to 20) are direct beneficiaries of the program. Blind girls irrespective of caste, creed or religion from all over the country are accepted into the institution.
Project purpose The purpose of the project is to provide them with all kinds of oppertunities and facilities to develop their potentials so that they can live in family and society with dignity. To create skills manpower in different sectors giving special & inclusive education, training and raising awareness for safety life of visually impaired girls and women. To ensure their health service and rehabilitaion.
Targets Description
- 80 Visually impaired girls will get education under special and interated education program through BMIS.
- 200 Sighted students will get normal education under integrated education through BMIS.
- 80 Visually impaired girls will get all kinds of hostel facilities such as residential, education, cloths, food,
recreation, medical etc.
- 20 Visually impaired students girls will get vocational training.
- 100 Visually impaired students will get computer product braille books as educational materials.
- 4 Professional staffs training on skill development from different institutions.
- 2 Seminars will organize on inclusive education with students, teachers and parents in 2010.
- 17 Teachers will receive training on modern integrated program & teaching methods under Teachers Refresh
Training in 2010.
- 1 Workshop organize on HIV/AIDS
- 2 Training of all girls with visual impairment in Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
- 2 Day celebrates (International Disabled Day & White Cane Day)
- 2 Workshops on Sexual abuse and Exploitation.(Breaking the sileance) with students, teachers and parents.
